MOLESKINE AND MOLESKINE FOUNDATION AT 2021 GWANGJU DESIGN BIENNALE

Moleskine and Moleskine Foundation jointly participate in the 2021 Gwangju Design Biennale with a dedicated exhibition space located in the International Pavillion.

The exhibition features a selection of original artworks from the Moleskine Foundation Collection, an archive of more than 1300 unique works created by contemporary creative minds who contribute to raising awareness on the theme of
creativity as a tool for social change to spread the culture of sharing and giving.

In addition, visitors will be able to unleash their creativity at the Moleskine Creative Table, featuring various Moleskine tools and a unique selection of Special Edition Notebooks created in collaboration with acclaimed artists, timeless icons, cultural institutions and brands.

Furthermore, as part of Moleskine and Moleskine Foundation commitment to support local communities, a donation of Moleskine notebooks will be made in favour of organizations selected by the Gwangju Institute for Design Promotion. This initiative is part of Creative Tools for Social Change, a Moleskine program designed to support non-profit organizations and creative communities around the world.

To mark the event, a Special Edition Moleskine Notebook has been exclusively created in collaboration with the Seoul-based Design Firm ‘MOTOELASTICO’. The notebook features a design inspired by the 2021 exhibition theme “d-Revolution”.

About Gwangju Design Biennale

The Gwangju Design Biennale (GDB) aims to highlight talents of the best and brightest local and international professionals who are using their design skills to address the most relevant current and global issues while integrating multidisciplinary perspectives.

The 2021 edition is centered around the theme “d-Revolution”. While the first obvious referent of D’ is  “design”, the use of
the single letter D is intended to incorporate other related terms, including Data, Digital, Desire, Dimension,  etc.

Contrary to the “revolution” of COVID-19 in terms of the resulting “sudden, forceful changes” of 2020, the d-Revolution presented by the Gwangju Design Biennale 2021 is a message of hope, optimism, and strength in the knowledge that love and beauty through design can transcend all walls and borders, to unify and encourage all.

The 2021 GDB will run from September 1st to October 31st  in Gwangju, South Korea
