    By combining words such as ‘Clue” and ‘Ideal’, the Gwangju Design Biennale 2009, held under the theme of “The Clue,” was aimed at providing new clues that create a sensation in the global design sectors. It is notable that the clue expressing the theme and a starting point was based on the Korean culture.

Main Exhibition

- Clothing : Illuminating the value of designs pertaining to clothing life with unique beauty and taste, including everyday clothes and formal clothes
- Eating : Illuminating the value of designs amid food culture as basic living conditions, friendship and cultural style
- Living : Illuminating the value of designs pertaining to living culture inherited as unique cultures in accordance with regions, living environment and religions
- Enlightening : Illuminating the value of designs as the process and methods of learning, teaching, familiarizing and mastering, and as mediation methods
- Enjoying : Illuminating the sound culture that expresses all sorts of emotions in life and mediates joy, manners and harmony from the perspective of designs
